When Founder Met Funder: An Event for Black Women Founders

When Founder Met Funder: An Event for Black Women Founders

When Founder Met Funder

Black women are the fastest-growing group of entrepreneurs in the nation. From 2007 to 2018, black female-owned businesses grew 164%, dramatically more than the rate of all women-owned businesses, which increased by 58% within the same time period.

However, according to a 2018 ProjectDiane report, of the $424.7 billion in total venture funding invested in tech startups since 2009, black women received 0.00006% of the funding.

We know that warm intros frequently exclude talented people without the same connections. So we’ve decided to do away with the social network of it all and generate warmth the old-fashioned way — in person, in real life, face to face!

To bring together some of the most amazing black women founders with potential investors, All Raise is hosting a “When Founder Met Funder” event at Y Combinator. Our aim is to create a forum where founders can get guidance about their startups and access to future capital, and investors can meet black women entrepreneurs on the rise. Ultimately, we hope that when founders meet funders, you’ll build valuable and lasting relationships.
